For the math nerds, this is the equation we use to calculate how much resin we'll need for a project:
((Length * Width * Height) / 1.805)
Length, width, and height are all in inches, and output is in fluid ounces.
NOTE: To convert fluid ounces to gallons (for larger resin projects), divide the output by 128.
Calculate Based on Ratio (by volume)
Resin has two parts, the resin and the hardener. These are also called parts A and B. Various resins have different ratios when mixing those two parts, some by weight and some by volume. Pouring too much resin can cause the epoxy to crack due to overheating during curing. It's, therefore, essential to maintain the correct depth, often not exceeding 1/2" for tabletop epoxy.
